Today the Governor of Colorado issued a statewide mask order requiring everyone older than 10 to wear a mask when they are in an indoor public space.
This order is in line with the guidelines we already had in place for parishes, but it is a chance to remind everyone that:
• Masks are required for anyone 3 or older attending a public Mass. (A priest does not wear a mask while celebrating Mass, because he is physically distanced from the congregation).
• Masks are required for anyone working in or visiting a parish office.
By wearing masks, we are acting out of love and charity towards each other.
By wearing masks, we are also making it less likely we will have to return to more restrictive guidelines.
The numbers in Colorado continue to trend in the wrong direction, so now is the time to make sure we remain committed to doing our part to slow the spread of the coronavirus.
